Global Forum on North Korea Economy 2011 at Seoul Hilton Hotel

The Korea Economic Daily and Hyundai Research Institute are hosting ‘Global Forum on North Korea Economy 2011' on Thursday, April 7 , 2011, in Millenium Hilton, Seoul, Korea.

Unsolved circumstances including North Korea's two deadly provocations - the March sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan and the November shelling of the South's border island of Yeonpyeong - have triggered on the Korean Peninsula and created instability on both North and South Korea. As tensions remains high from the past year, current situation in North Korea is, as always has been, harsh . As economic trades between both sides have mostly been halted due to the strained ties between them, the North Korean economic downturn has not only exacerbated and they are expecting a minus economic growth due to reduced international aid and recent currency reform.

Such being the case with the nation, Korea Economic Daily and Hyundai Research Institute are hosting ‘Global Forum on North Korea Economy’. The topic of this year's forum will be “Are Are there Viable Korean Unification Scenarios in the upcoming Decade?”

The upcoming forum will discuss recent status in North-East Asia, change in North Korean economy, ways to improve economic tie between North and South Korea, creation of collaborative economic institutions between two countries and various ways for the unification of both countries. Not only experts in the field of North Korean economy but also high profile government officials, CEOs and chairmen from NGO, enterprises and Research Institutions will participate in the forum.
