Education Policies for Sustainable Growth
This year’s Global HR Forum has various sessions under the theme ‘Reinventing the Future.’ With ‘Education Policies for Sustainable Growth’ as a major topic of discussion, prominent scholars from around the world, presidents of prestigious Universities, representatives of educational institutions will gather on Thursday to discuss the right people to guide the future, the role of education, and education policies for the ‘Centenarian Age’ taking place in Track A of the conference.
In Session 1, Roger Shouse, a professor at Pennsylvania State University and Alan Henkin, a professor at the University of Iowa will give a talk on ‘Instilling Creativity and Character in the G20 Generation.’ By examining educational policies, strategies, and practice of other countries, the panel will search for ways to nurture Korea’s youth, also referred to as the ‘G20 Generation.’
The next session’s topic is ‘The Role of Higher Education in the Next Decade.’ The discussants will foresee how next decade’s education will change as well as what type of talent is needed for higher education to succeed.
A session on how to educate talented people in the science and technology field is provided as well. In Session 3 titled ‘World-class Science and Technology Education for Future Talents,’ Ian White, vice-chancellor at Cambridge University and Lars Pallesen, president of the Technical University of Denmark will share their thoughts on whether current education policies are able to educate talented youths.
Unsil Choi, president of the National Institute for Lifelong Education will be the moderator for the last session, ‘Framing Lifelong Education Policies for the Era of Centenarians.’ The issue of Korea’s elderly population will be dealt alongside with the strategies for incorporating the elderly into society.
